Hi, I am Dror Poleg, the author and founder of Rethinking Real Estate. I write (and occasionally speak) about technology’s impact on the real estate industry with a specific focus on strategy, finance, and the flow of ideas between Asia and the West.
My written analysis and various talks have been seen and read by more than 20,000 executives from companies such as Blackstone, WeWork, British Land, Cushman & Wakefield, AirBnB, and Sequoia Capital. I am currently working on a longer book on this topic, to be published in the beginning of 2018.
I work with some of the world’s most innovative real estate investors, developers, owners, operators, and technologists to bring to market products that reshape the way people live, work, and travel.
I previously served as Vice President of Kardan Land, overseeing business development of a $3b property portfolio; as Founder & CEO of Otherz.com, a location-based social network; and as a board member and executive in several online media and real estate projects.
Over the past 15 years, I advised dozens of clients, led more than $200m worth of real estate transactions, and participated in hundreds of negotiations with some of the world’s largest financial institutions (Blackrock, HSBC, GIC, China Construction Bank), real estate operators (Frasers, Oakwood), and retailers (Zara, H&M, Uniqlo). My analysis has been cited by leading consulting firms such as Colliers International, Jones Lang LaSalle, and Cushman & Wakefield.
I hold a Masters degree from the London School of Economics; a B.A. in Multimedia & Communication from Swinburne University of Technology; and a certificate in Finance for Executives from INSEAD. I am based in New York, and previously lived in Beijing, London, Melbourne, Paris, and Tel Aviv.
I am occasionally available for speaking engagements for both public and private events. This includes board meetings, investor briefings, as well as larger conferences. A good example is this talk from earlier this year, addressing 180 executives from companies such as Blackstone, TIAA Hendrerson, Blackrock, Cisco, and Lone Star Capital. Compensation varies based on the nature of the customer and event, as well as the topic.
I am based in NYC and visit Asia, Europe, and Israel on a regular basis. Feel free to get in touch.
